The article below was published on Wednesday February 15, 2017 after the Board of Education formally approved a resolution on Monday evening to move forward with a referendum vote scheduled for September 2017. There were a few errors in the article that will be corrected here: There is NO addition to the Von E. Mauger Middle School. The Board and Central Offices are projected to move into the vacated 4th grade classrooms that will be relocated to Watchung School when it becomes a Grade 2-5 building. The Board and Central Offices that now are housed in MHS will be reconfigured into high school classroom spaces. The addition to Watchung School will have 3 floors. No work will be done at Parker School as it will be taken off-line when the work is completed in the other buildings.
